The beginning
Exciting
The Dutch artist Felix Albers designed a new game, in which the chess pieces don’t capture but embrace each other. The birth of his son led him to the concept of embracing.

Thoughtful
Chess with a message. A game about connection, dialog, and power. Together we each create the world in a game. A challenging life lesson to join forces and go in search of peace and harmony.
Beauty
The Paco Ŝako pieces have opened their arms for one another. They dance and spin over the chessboard. A design of balance and beauty.
Recognition
In 2017 Felix Albers received the PAX peace award for Paco Ŝako. The following year the game was nominated for Toy of the Year and the Dutch Gaming Prize.
Development
Paco Ŝako is faced with the fascinating challenge of developing the educational side of the game. The technical aspect with puzzles, clubs, and tournaments, as well as the artistic and educational aspect with exercises and displays.
